The Australian Alpaca National Show is set to be an exciting event at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds in Bendigo, Australia, showcasing the best of the alpaca industry. This will be the 9th edition of the show, promising a thrilling experience for both participants and spectators. The show will feature various competitions, including the prestigious Halter Show, judged by esteemed judges Natasha Clark from Australia and Mary Jo Smith from the UK. Competitors will present their alpacas in various classes, highlighting their quality and breeding.

In addition to the Halter Show, the event will host a National Auction on the 8th of August 2026 at 6 PM. This auction is a key highlight, where participants can bid on some of the finest alpacas. An AAA Member Soiree will follow on the same day at 7:30 PM, providing an opportunity for networking and celebration among members. The Fleece Show, judged by Jude Anderson from Australia, will also take place, showcasing the quality of fleece from the participating alpacas. Fleece testing will occur from the 11th to the 12th of July 2026, leading up to the show, with a fleece drop-off location at Ashbourne Alpacas.

The event is heavily supported by various sponsorship levels. Title sponsors will receive premium marketing exposure, including in-ring signage, social media promotion, and a trade booth in the commercial district. The Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze sponsorship tiers provide opportunities for brand visibility, with benefits ranging from exclusive naming rights to the Supreme Championships to promotional material displayed at the event. Additionally, there are options for regional supporters and commercial sponsors who wish to promote their brands across the AAA website and social media.

The event will also facilitate alpaca inspections leading up to the auction, with scheduled visits across various states in Australia. This process allows participants to nominate their best alpacas for the auction, ensuring a diverse and high-quality offering. The show promises to be a significant highlight of the Australian alpaca calendar, attracting breeders, buyers, and enthusiasts alike. With a professional cameraperson capturing the action, the show will be accessible for viewers around the world, ensuring that the excitement of the event reaches a global audience. As the industry prepares for this prestigious event, anticipation builds for a showcase of excellence in alpaca breeding and husbandry.
